Water/Sand/Rice/Corn Table?

We have had this water table since Karalee turned one!  It is intended to have water on one side and sand on the other....Any intelligent mom can guess what happens with this recipe. You guessed it! Wet sand and sandy water. We have had everything in this table from water, bubbles, sand, rice and this summer we are trying corn!  My friend Stephanie went to the Agriculture exhibit in town and was given a huge 50 lb bag of free corn feed. A girl only needs so much corn so she passed along half of the bag. The girls are loving this new texture to play with! What a fun idea for summer play!

Didn't know...

what I was missing! I received a beautiful sewing machine from my mother-in-law for my birthday! My mom gave me some JoAnne's Gift cards for my crafting pleasure...and voila!  I am learning to sew. I went with my mom on Wednesday to pick a pattern and fabric. She helped me with the basics like iron your pattern so it lays flat, how to decipher pattern-speak, etc. I cut it out on Thursday afternoon and by Friday night I had a super cute purse for my date! I am in love.....with sewing and with my new bag! FUN!

I have always been a girl who had an idea in mind but couldn't ever find it in the store. Now I can create my ideas, once I find the fabric that is in my mind...HA!  I can't wait to start making things for the girls. What a blessing! Thanks Moms for my wonderful birthday treats!

Fun in the Sun!

What can I say? We love the park!  Swings, Merry-go-round, ducks to feed. Fun times with Mimi!

Papa gave our family a membership to the zoo for Audree's birthday and we could not be more excited! Today was our first trip with our pass. So fun and beautiful weather. I think the animals were as happy as we were to see the sun. They were out and more active than we have ever seen them!

Audree's First Birthday....Ice Cream!

I guess you can say we have a started a tradition. We have taken both girls on their first birthday to DQ for an ice cream cone. This was in hopes to save the birthday cake fun for the upcoming birthday bash. It is entertaining to look back and see the girls similarities and differences on their special day! Happy Birthday Audree! Sorry you didn't like your cone!
